Well Done Damien!

A huge congratulations to Damien for passing his CPL skills test on our Piper PA28 Arrow Hotel Juliet. After several weeks of hardwork, challenging weather and above all else dedication, Damien passed his CPL earlier today! Damien joins us from France as we continue to grow our French student base, he will soon start the MEP on the BE76 Duchess and then follow on with the ME/IR on both our Alsim and BE76 Duchess. The CPL marks a huge milestone in any Pilots journey to the flight deck, and as always we are so pleased Damien choose to take that journey with us. Again well done, have a fantastic weekend celebrating and see you bright and early next week to begin the MEP! Want to know more about the courses we offer? Email us at for more information.

When the RAF come to visit

The Royal Air Force are in attendance at Bournemouth today with two of their Typhoons, positioning ready for a busy weekend of airshow displays around the south coast. Our Operations Manager captured this photo of the Typhoon passing our Piper PA28 Arrow Hotel Juliet earlier, we have a feeling being Ex RAF he favours the Typhoon over HJ! BCFT is located adjacent to taxiway Mike and close to Holding point Mike, this means all arriving traffic for the northern side of the airfield comes past giving students a close look at various and often interesting types. Its even better when runway 08 is in use as Holding point mikes becomes busy with aircraft waiting to depart and the pleasant smell of Jet A1 takes over the apron. Alex and his SAAB340

We had a catch up with Alexandre over the last few days, one of our former students and a current First Officer on the SAAB340 with Loganair, Scotlands Airline. Alex has been working for Loganair for almost a year now, initially based at Inverness before moving south to Glasgow. To say he loves working for them would be an understatement, the hands on and the varied flying means no two days are the same. Check out the two pictures below showing walkarounds in two slightly different weather conditions and one image showing one of Flybe’s Dash 8 Q400 in shot, a type flown by many of our former students. Alex gained employment with Loganair within 8 days of finishing his training with us last summer, impressive to say the least. Want to know more about BCFT and the flight training … Continue reading

Office Views

Check this out for an office view, better than yours currently? This photo taken from the back seat of Tango Zulu one of our Piper PA28 Cadets used for PPL, CPL and the basic flight training aspect of the Airline Pilot Academy Integrated course. We encourage students to ‘backseat’ one another to gain valuable experience and insights for free. As theres nothing else to think or worry about when sitting in the back, students can pick up on the smallest of details and learn from others. They also get to enjoy the superb views the South Coast offers, heres Old Harry Rocks abeam Swanage and close to the VRP of Sandbanks. email:

As we published late last week, the U.K CAA FCL exams are changing, with effect from the 14th August 2017. Its a date to remember 14.08.17. The first exam to change over to the new Quadrant system will be Air Law soon followed by all other subjects on the syllabus. The system is currently used throughout Europe under EASA and has also been implemented by New Zealand, Australia and even Singapore. Importantly though, BCFT and its instructors have been working hard over the past several months ensuring they know the new system and its style of asking questions inside out and we have already started passing this onto students to ensure they are as best prepared as they can be for exam sittings. As we posted earlier, we currently have an extremely high first time pass rate of 91%, we … Continue reading
